Today's Question: Who am I Giving Glory?

This is inspired by a Bible verse I read today in Acts 12:23... "And immediately, the angel of the Lord struck him because he gave not God the glory"

..........................Yeeeeeeeah.. scary! That's a pretty creepy thing to think of. I know sometimes we seek our own glory. I'm prime for that, I know! haha Which is kinda bad.. actually it is bad. Like, my music. Okay.. To truly know me you have to know that I really love music. I love playing guitar and singing. So what I really want to do with that is to bring God's love to people, right? Well yes that's right, I guess you couldn't answer that question :P However, I also have this little part inside that wants people to think I'm awesome at the same time... which is bad. haha It's not bad to want people to like you and think you are talented, but that shouldn't be the focus in everything we do. Our focus should be on bringing glory to God, because He's the only One that deserves glory.

Funny, while I was writing this... I was listening to K-Love... here's what I heard.

Steven Curtis Chapman ... "Do Everything"
"Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do "

Pretty good song, google it or yahoo it or something! haha It's a good reminder :)

Love and prayers,

  1. Excellent thoughts!
It can be hard to balance pride in what you do, with being prideFUL.
It's helps me if I remind myself that I sing and play for an audience of ONE.
    A modest fashion blog:

    1. Hey, Natasha! Thanks for the encouragement! I love to have people comment on my blog :) Only problem is, they rarely do! However, that probably makes me treasure the comments more!

Thanks for the tip, too! That's what I try to remind myself. I'm rather glad that I'm not doing one of the studies at my church that I was going to, because I was supposed to lead worship, and I was afraid of becoming prideful! haha But I still really want to sing and play for God, so I'm trying to find how I can do it :)

      Nice hearing from you!

I'll check out your blog! :D

  2. Sorry, I should comment more. Oops. I always mean to. ♥♥i have pride issues....but not with singing. Lol. I truly had to comment though because I read that same verse today!

    1. YAY lol thanks :) now that's kind of scary.... I don't know why, but I've been reading Acts lately... I just flipped to it today because I've been reading all Paul's epistles and I wanted something still New Testament but not like.. a letter letter hehe
